Ephesians 3:20
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us…”
I have been overwhelmed recently at the reality of this promise, at how God has been pleased to establish with His covenant love the exact fulfillment of what the believer has been given as their rest and assurance. That is, the promise that “He is able to do”. The saints here at Harvest Baptist Church have been, by the will of God, challenged to take God at His word and to prove Him. God has given us through the exposition of Scripture the obvious commands of living obediently and contently with what God has purposed for us.
I am bubbling over with faith in the all-sufficient One as I have been blessed to see that His children have heard His word and have been putting Him to the test. The way God blesses! To here the redeemed express how He has provided beyond what their particular act of faith was worth (at least to them) is to make this scripture read as if it was given just for them fresh and new.
Lest I limit this wonderful working of God to one place or instance, I am soon to hear from friends and acquaintances outside our church fellowship about the goodness of God falling all around them like spiritual manna. To know that in the grayest and coldest time of the year, in the worst economy the world has suffered in a long time, and in a most spiritually dry culture, God has been pleased to bless His children with bread good for them. My only intention for writing this is give praise and glory to God for how He has evidenced His ability to “do immeasurably” beyond what we could ask or imagine. Have you experienced a working of such in your life recently? If so, have you given Him thanks and praise? God I thank you for your working in our lives. Make us most aware of your grace and more dependant upon it. Soli Deo Gloria!
Adam, this is so true. Amazing! God giving blessings from his vast store house which will never run dry to receive praise and glory! God, at times, withholds blessings and curses some so that He might receive glory. (There seems to be a trend.) Thankfully, God has chosen to do a work in me and continue in that work that I might will and work His pleasure! Let us, as Christians, rejoice in our Conqueror who has conquered death and sin and our will so that we might one day hear the blessed words, “well done, good and faithful servant”

Above all we ask or think!!!??!! How about an expense-paid two week mission trip to Uganda, Africa to get God’s Word into the people’s hands; and the ability to get off work for that amount of time (which is unheard of for as little time as I have been there)? Yes, My wife and I are going to Africa because God has worked all things for good and His glory. Soli Deo Gloria!!!
